[From the Brink of Death to Safety — Protected by the Bodhisattva]
My deepest gratitude to Namo Shakyamuni Buddha!
My deepest gratitude to the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva Mahasattva!
My deepest gratitude to the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and Dharma Protectors of the Ten Directions and three periods of time!
My deepest gratitude to Master Lu Jun Hong !
My deepest gratitude to all fellow practitioners!
I am Xu, a Buddhist practitioner from Malaysia.
I hope that my sharing can benefit all sentient beings and inspire more people with affinity to learn Buddhism, recite scriptures, understand impermanence, and comprehend cause and effect.
May the compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva bless me and allow for my sharing today to be transformed into merits and I also pray for blessings for my husband’s recovery to full health.
I would like to share with everyone how, through the compassionate blessings of Guan Yin Bodhisattva and the application of the three golden practices of the Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door, my husband was saved twice from the brink of death and given a new lease on life.
A Miracle at the Gate of Death
July 5th is a day I will never forget. Originally, I had planned to go out for Dharma propagation that morning, and then send my daughter to her music class directly after Dharma propagation.
However, that morning I felt unusually tired, and for some reason, I did not go out as planned.
When I was preparing to go out, I noticed that my husband had not gotten up—which was unusual, as he would normally already be up by that time. I tried waking him, but he had no response. His face was pale, and he had already fallen into a coma! I immediately called the ambulance to rush him to the hospital.
The doctor diagnosed him with critically low blood sugar, lung fluid retention, and severe bacterial infection. He told me that if I had brought him in any later, he would not have survived.
At that moment, I was deeply shaken—if I had gone out for Dharma propagation that morning, I would not have returned until noon, and by then, it would have been too late. I truly grateful to Guan Yin Bodhisattva for this compassionate arrangement, pulling him back from the brink of death !
The Power of the Three Golden Buddhist Practices
After being admitted to the hospital, that very afternoon my brother-in-law kindly offered 21 Little Houses on my husband’s behalf. In the following week, I released hundreds of fish and continued to offer Little House.
Yet, he remained in a coma, and I started getting anxious. I prayed daily in front of the altar, asking Guan Yin Bodhisattva to bless him to wake up. I transferred part of my merits, while my children each offered part of their merits. Our whole family made vows, praying only for him to survive. But his condition remained unstable and his consciousness remained weak.
A senior practitioner then reminded me: “Only by making Great Vows can one truly be saved.”
So, my children and I each made great vows at the altar: I vowed that for the rest of my life, I would dedicate myself to Dharma propagation and once my husband recovered, we would propagate the Dharma and accumulate merits together.
The very next day after we made our vows, a miracle happened—my husband opened his eyes! Though his full awareness did not return immediately, it was the first ray of hope.
Proof of the Bodhisattva’s Compassion
During his hospital stay, his lung infection kept recurring. At one point, the doctors even suspected lung cancer. But I firmly believed that someone who had vowed to remain vegetarian for life would not suffer such a karmic illness. Indeed, after several tests, it was confirmed to be only a bacterial infection.
At that time, there were six critically ill patients on the same floor, including my husband. In the end, the other five sadly passed away—only my husband survived. Even the nurse exclaimed, “This is unbelievable!”
I knew it was the power of life liberation. During that period, I performed large-scale of life liberation every week without failure —10,000 fish, 20,000 fish, until a total of 50,000 fish were released. It was the merit of life liberation, combined with Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s compassion, that gave my husband another chance at life.
Throughout his 40-plus days in the hospital, I was deeply touched by the support of fellow practitioners. They offered me with Little Houses, altogether with mine and my family members, we had recited more than 800. This made me truly feel the warmth of “fellow practitioners being like family.”
Today, my husband’s life is no longer in danger, though his consciousness has not fully recovered. I believe Guan Yin Bodhisattva has heard my prayers. Because this was a major karmic trial, it will take time to resolve. With The Five “Golden Buddhist practices”, I believe that when the conditions ripen, he will fully recover.
Realizations
This experience has deepened my faith: Guan Yin Bodhisattva is real, and Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door is true.
In this Dharma-Ending Age, disasters are everywhere. Only by cultivating diligently, doing good deeds, and creating merits can we protect ourselves and our families.
Without the practice of Guan Yin Citta Dharma Door and deep faith in Guan Yin Bodhisattva, I would not have endured that darkest period of my life. Besides the exhaustion and stress, I also faced misunderstanding and pressure from family members who had not yet learned Buddhism. But it was Guan Yin Bodhisattva’s compassion and the guidance of this Dharma Door that gave me the strength to persevere.
If there is anything in my sharing that is not in accordance with the Dharma, I sincerely ask forgiveness from Namo Shakyamuni Buddha, Guan Yin Bodhisattva, all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten directions, the Dharma Protectors, and my benevolent Master, Lu Jun Hong.
Finally, once again:
My deepest gratitude to Namo Shakyamuni Buddha!
My deepest gratitude to the Greatly Merciful and Greatly Compassionate Guan Yin Bodhisattva Mahasattva!
My deepest gratitude to the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and Dharma Protectors of the Ten Directions and three periods of time!
